🌿 What Is a Juice Feast?
A Juice Feast is what happens when you treat yo’ cells to the full abundance of plant life—all packed into our vibrant, cold-pressed juice.
Shouldn’t raw juice be consumed immediately after juicing?
Raw juice made with a centrifugal juicer (most home juicers) should be consumed immediately because the process generates heat and oxidation which leads to rapid enzyme depletion, and sometimes a bruised taste.
Can I freeze the juice?
Yes! Juice freezes well and then melts into a icee/slushie drink as you shake the bottle.
What’s the difference between juice and a smoothie?
The main difference is fiber. Most of the plant fiber is removed in the juice pressing process. By taking the fiber out, you can pack more fruit & veggie nutrients into a juice than you can into a smoothie of the same size. The lack of fiber allows your body to rapidly absorb the nutrients while expending minimal digestive effort, and this may be a better option for those dealing with digestion issues. Smoothies are made by pulverizing fruit/veggies with water or other liquid in a blender. The fiber, which helps keep things moving through your digestive system, is maintained in the process.
What’s the difference between Juicy Leaf juice and cold-pressed juice at the supermarket?
Cold-pressed juice sold at retailers (not direct from the juice producer) is required to undergo High-Pressure Processing (or HPP) where pressure is used to extend the shelf life of the juice so it can sit on shelves for weeks and months. Also, most display coolers at stores have LED lighting that emits UV light which damages the juice (think sunlight that bleaches out colors). HPP is less destructive to nutrients than heat pasteurization, however, beneficial enzymes are compromised and many do not consider HPP juice “raw”. Our juice is truly raw & fresh.
Can Juicy Leaf bottles be reused?
We can sanitize and reuse the glass shot bottles! You may rinse and return them to our shop or our booth at the Kalamazoo Farmers Market. We cannot correctly wash/sanitize the plastic bottles for reuse. They are made from #1 PETE plastic, which is highly recyclable. We encourage you to find creative ways to reuse them. A few that we like are for sorting odds and ends, organizing small hardware like screws/nails/nuts & bolts, fill them with loose tea, seeds, or dried herbs, especially for sharing with friends. They also make great ice packs!
