FAQ
Got Sugar Bugs?
Unfortunately, sugar bugs or “cavities” happen. Did you know more than half of all Wyoming children will
have
at least one cavity by age 8. Decay in the baby teeth can not only cause pain and infection; untreated
tooth
decay can damage the permanent teeth and cause future orthodontic problems. Young children with many
dental
needs often develop fear and trauma after difficult trips to the dentist. Casper Children’s Dental
Clinic is
here to help families struggling with their child’s oral health. Our mission is to bring your child to
pain-free, stable oral health using proven treatment methods that prevent dental fear and anxiety. If
the
inconvenient truth of “sugar bugs” on your child’s teeth has been pestering you, please don’t hesitate
to give
us a call.
How Can My Child Get Emergency Dental Care?
You always want to call our dental office first if you suspect that your child is experiencing a dental
emergency. Someone on our team will be able to help pencil them in for the earliest appointment. If
their situation is more dire, however, such as a dislocated jaw, trouble breathing/swallowing, or
uncontrollable bleeding, call 911 and/or go to your local ER instead. They’ll at least be able to
get stabilized over there until they can see us for treatment. Our office offers same-day appointments
so that your little one can get the care they need at a moment’s notice. To help them avoid dental
emergencies, be sure to have them clean their teeth daily while also visiting us every six months for
checkups and cleanings.
How Much Does a Dental Checkup & Cleaning Cost in Casper?
The average cost of dental checkups and cleanings in the United States is typically between $200 and
$350. Of course, the specific amount can vary based on factors like geography and a patient’s
dental health. During these visits, we will discuss your child’s oral health history as well as
any concerns you or your little one might have about their smile. Their appointment will also involve an
oral examination, X-rays, a professional teeth cleaning, and an oral cancer screening. If your child is
under your dental insurance plan, the price of their checkup and cleaning can be negotiated by Dr.
Paulson and your insurer.
How Much Does it Cost to Get a Tooth Extracted Without Insurance?
A tooth extraction without the help of dental insurance can usually cost somewhere between $150 and $400.
This can also be influenced by things like a child’s current dental health as well as geography.
Furthermore, you’ll want to keep in mind any additional prices due to other necessary procedures
or services, such as any type of sedation your child receives. If your child is included in your
insurance plan, then the price might be negotiated beforehand.
What Do You Do If You Can’t Afford a Dentist?
Remember that protecting your child’s pearly whites is all about prevention, which is the best way
to save money in the long run. Of course, dental insurance can also be a great tool for minimizing your
out-of-pocket fees. If you aren’t currently insured or your child isn’t in your policy, you
might consider signing up for a plan through CareCredit, which can turn the cost of their treatment(s)
into monthly installments. Many of these plans also come with little to no interest, that way you can
worry less about finances and focus more on helping your little one enjoy a healthier smile.
