FAQ

How do I see a show at Smoke?
<div> </div><div>We highly recommend that you purchase tickets in advance for the set you'd like to see in the listening room! Tickets can be purchased via our <a href="/calendar">tickets page</a>. There may be a small number of tickets available at the door right before the show if you'd like to walk up and take your chances.</div>
I'd like more information about the dinner show.
<p>All 6 p.m. &amp; 8 p.m. shows at Smoke are dinner shows. Dinner shows require a minimum purchase of at least one entrée per person, to be billed at the end of the performance.</p><p>Dinner is not required with a standing room ticket purchase, but there is a $20 consumption minimum. If desired, guests with standing room tickets may enjoy dinner in the bar/lounge before the set begins.</p>
Is there an entrance fee?
<div><div><p>A ticket must be purchased to see a set of music in the listening room.</p></div><div><p>Tickets are not required in the bar/lounge, which is separate from the listening room.</p><p>Visit our <a href="/calendar">calendar</a> to purchase tickets.</p></div></div><div> </div>
Is there a dress code?
<p>Smoke does not have an enforced dress code. However, people do tend to dress nicely for an evening at Smoke, so we encourage "dressy casual"!</p>
Is there a food / drink minimum?

Dinner shows require a minimum purchase of at least one entrée per person, to be billed at the end of the performance.</p><p>10:00 p.m. sets are not dinner sets, but there is a $20 minimum per person.</p><p>There is never a minimum in the Bar &amp; Lounge.</p><p>Dinner is not required with a standing room ticket purchase, but there is a $20 consumption minimum. If desired, guests with standing room tickets may enjoy dinner in the bar/lounge before the set begins.</p>
May we stay for more than one set?
<div><div>Each ticket is for one set only. If we have room, we may be able to make an exception. It never hurts to ask the maitre d' and we certainly appreciate your enthusiasm for the music!</div></div>
May we converse during the show?
<div><div>The listening room at Smoke does have a quiet policy, and we request that conversation be kept to a minimum and voices be kept to a whisper during the music set. If you would like to converse with your group, we suggest that you purchase tickets for the 6pm set so that you can have drinks, dinner, and conversation between 4 and 6pm before the music starts.</div></div>
My ticket for the 6pm show states "Arrival time is between 5:00 and 5:15". Why?
<p>The doors at Smoke open at 4pm. Since the 6pm show is a dining show, we encourage all guests to arrive between 4 and 5:15pm.</p><p>This allows you to enjoy conversation, dinner, and drinks before the show and cuts down on service noise during the music.</p>
Do you have any discounts?
<p>We recognize that going out in New York City can be expensive, but we feel that it is very important to make live Jazz accessible for as many budgets as possible. Because of that, Smoke offers an attractively priced Happy Hour as well as heavily discounted standing room tickets.</p><p>It is possible to arrive between 4 and 5:30pm, grab a $7 happy hour cocktail and a couple of $7 happy hour appetizers at the bar, and enjoy them before going into standing room for an unforgettable set of music, all for less than a movie with popcorn and soda in your local NYC movie theater.</p>
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
<p>We do accommodate a range of dietary needs! We can happily offer gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan appetizers, sides, main courses, and desserts. Please give Smoke a call after purchasing tickets to notify the kitchen about any allergy restrictions your party has.</p>
Are children welcome to see a set of music at Smoke?
<div dir="auto">Yes, children 5 and older are welcome to sit in the listening room during Jazz shows! All children, including those sitting in laps, require a ticket. Children must be able to sit quietly-those causing disruption (as determined by Smoke management) may be asked to leave the listening room. New York State law prohibits minors from sitting at the bar in the lounge.</div>
